Stepping through the gateway together, with the body of Ashmar (with the hopes of burying him in the new world) and the spirit of Kraos trapped inside a spirit bottle for a chance of a second life, they emerged in the complete opposite of what they expected. Frozen by the horrors of the place they now stood it wasn't long before they were confronted by a great shadow carrying a lantern of souls.
"I am Esos, I am your ancestor, the one who built this gateway, it was severed by human hands, and we were all damned to this place. Your coming ensures a bright future for us all, for I have exhausted all sources of my power to fracture the gates, only a few hundred souls remain on standby to take over the promised land. If we become one, we can shatter the seal on the gates and take the promised land for ourselves."
