They continued upon the road until the got to the lakefront where there was usually a fence surrounding the water. They decided to take a small break at the lakefront. Staring out over the lake, they noticed a small shadow on the horizon. The shadow slid around on the grey sky, when it got closer, they noticed what looked like a lantern hanging from the shadow. It got closer and closer, it was huge, not unlike your mom. They were petrified, their gaze completely focused on the shadow. When it finally got close enough, it shined a bright light on them.
Caught in the warmth of the light, suddenly filled with energy and power they had never dreamed of. Knowledge filled their mind, empowered them. The power of the light, so intense, a rollercoaster of power and knowledge coursing through them. It felt as if all of the universe was theirs, the powers of the infinite skies was theirs to take. And then just like that, the light stopped, the cold air once again embraced them, and the shadow left as fast as it came. They stood there bewildered, not remembering anything that just happened except for the warmth of the light, and the empowering feeling it gave them. Eventually Aether broke the silence. "The island in that lake, we have to go there." "What?" "I don't know, what just happened, but all I can remember is the island, we have to go there for some reason." They argued back and forth for a bit, but then decided to head for the shores closest to the island.
